Cryptanthus
Often called Earth
Stars, Cryptanthus are smaller bromeliads that hybridize easily.
They only grow to a few inches tall, but spread out horizontally to 6-12
inches. Some of the brightest and most beautiful colors are found on
Cryptanthus, such as bright pink, black striped, and ruby red. They
produce very small flowers in their centers, which later grow into pups.
It is best to grow these on top of logs, rocks, other trees, or any other
surface that you want them to spread over. They prefer bright
filtered light and are easy to grow!
