About Us

At Seabreeze Nurseries, our mission is to create new varieties of palm trees that are more

cold-tolerant, drought-tolerant, sun-tolerant,

and faster growing.

We were founded in 2007 as Seabreeze Palms LLC, a small plant nursery in Fort Myers, Florida. Justen Dobbs, a co-founder, moved from Southern California to the Gulf Coast of Florida to pursue his passion for creating hybrid palms and new species of plants in Florida's subtropical climate. As of 2025, the company has produced eight new varieties of palm trees in-house. This process creates new varieties that are more cold-tolerant, more drought-tolerant, less fertilizer-dependent, and faster growing. Our palms and seeds have been distributed all over the United States and to many other countries including Spain, Italy, and Israel
